✨ Executive Week 2025 – National Resilience College ✨
The National Resilience College (NRC) successfully held its annual Executive Week from 28 July to 1 August 2025, a flagship program initiated by our current Chief of Defence Forces, General Tan Sri Haji Mohd Nizam bin Hj Jaffar, during his tenure as Commandant. Since then, it has become a proud tradition that brings together senior leaders from the Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM), Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), National Security Council, National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (IDFR), as well as academia, media (Media Prima, Sinar Harian), and industry partners such as Galaxy Aerospace and others.
Day 1 – 28 July 2025
The programme commenced with Opening Remarks by the President of PUSPAHANAS, Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri bin Zali, who set the tone for a week of intellectual engagement and strategic discourse. The first sessions explored Malaysia’s national resilience architecture, emphasising whole-of-government and whole-of-society (WoGoS) approaches in addressing evolving security challenges.
Day 2 – 29 July 2025
The focus shifted to the cybersecurity domain, guided by insights from Microsoft. Discussions highlighted the alarming rise of nation-state cyber threats, ransomware, AI-enabled attacks, and the vulnerabilities of critical infrastructure. Participants examined how Malaysia can strengthen cyber resilience through policy reforms, international cooperation, and the adoption of Zero Trust frameworks
Day 3 – 30 July 2025
Attention turned to Malaysia’s digital governance, with sessions on the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) amendments, AI governance and ethics, and the Cyber Security Act 2024. Speakers stressed the importance of balancing innovation, transparency, and security while addressing digital divides and fostering public trust
Day 4 – 31 July 2025
Geopolitics and regional volatility took centre stage. Eminent speakers unpacked the implications of great power rivalry, Middle East instability, and ASEAN security dynamics for Malaysia’s strategic posture. These discussions underscored the importance of foresight, diplomacy, and preparedness in navigating an unpredictable global order
Day 5 – 1 August 2025 (Closing & Certificate Ceremony)
Executive Week concluded with the Certificate Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of all participants. This closing symbolised not just the completion of the programme, but NRC’s enduring mission of shaping future leaders capable of addressing Malaysia’s grand strategic challenges with wisdom and foresight
📌 Executive Week remains a cornerstone of NRC’s tradition—an annual platform where defence, security, governance, industry, and society converge to exchange ideas, build networks, and reinforce Malaysia’s national resilience.
