February 23, 2026 – Diplomacy as an Instrument of Foreign Policy in the Age of Globalisation: Issues and Challenges

The National Resilience College (NRC) was honoured to host Professor Datuk Dr Faiz Abdullah for an Eminent Speaker session on “Diplomacy as an Instrument of Foreign Policy in the Age of Globalisation: Issues and Challenges”.
Professor Faiz is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia, the country’s premier think-tank. He also serves as Malaysia’s representative to the ASEAN Regional Forum Experts and Eminent Persons, and is Co-Chair of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP). In addition, he is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Good Governance and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Malaya.
With a career spanning media, law enforcement, education, three decades of legal practice, and extensive advisory work on strategic and international affairs to federal and state governments, Professor Faiz delivered a deeply grounded and forward-looking discussion. He is also the author of five books, including his latest, Strategic Shift: Preparing Malaysia for a Turbulent Future, a timely lens for understanding diplomacy amid today’s shifting global order.
