Defence Diplomacy as an Instrument of Malaysia’s Foreign Policy

The National Resilience College had the honour of hosting Datuk Mohd Yani Daud, Deputy Secretary General (Policy), Ministry of Defence, as an Eminent Speaker for a strategic session titled “Defence Diplomacy as an Instrument of Malaysia’s Foreign Policy: Issues and Challenges.” The session gave course members insights into how defence diplomacy supports Malaysia’s foreign policy goals, including managing regional security, building strategic partnerships, and strengthening national influence. At the grand strategic level, the topic is highly significant, as it underscores the integration of military, diplomatic, and policy instruments to safeguard national sovereignty, strengthen regional stability, and project Malaysia’s strategic interests in an increasingly contested and multipolar global environment.
