On 14 January 2026, the National Resilience College hosted an Eminent Speaker session featuring Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Haji Ambrin bin Buang, former Auditor-General, who delivered a strategic address on “Addressing the Challenges of Good Governance in Malaysia: A Holistic Perspective for National Development and Security.” The session examined how governance quality directly shaped national performance and resilience, highlighting the importance of integrity, accountability, transparent public finance, and robust oversight in building citizen trust and strengthening state legitimacy. By linking governance standards to both development outcomes and national security, the lecture reinforced the idea that effective institutions and responsible stewardship of public resources were not administrative ideals but strategic necessities for safeguarding stability, reducing vulnerabilities, and sustaining Malaysia’s long-term national progress.
