Adapting Malaysia’s National Security Policy to Contemporary Threats

The National Resilience College had the distinct honour of hosting YM Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Director General of the National Security Council, as an Eminent Speaker, where he delivered an insightful session on “Adapting Malaysia’s National Security Policy to Contemporary Threats: Challenges and Strategic Responses.” The talk gave course members critical perspectives on how Malaysia must continually update its national security framework to address evolving threats, including cyber warfare, hybrid conflicts, and geopolitical uncertainties. The topic was vital because it highlighted the need for adaptive, forward-looking policies to ensure national resilience, strategic preparedness, and the safeguarding of Malaysia’s sovereignty in an increasingly complex and unpredictable security environment.
