The National Resilience College (NRC) had the honour of welcoming Mr Amal Shanaka Wickramasinghe, Head of Governance Risk and Compliance for Cybersecurity, Data Privacy and Business Continuity Management at Axiata Group Berhad, as an eminent speaker for the session titled “Information as a Pillar of National Power and Security in the Digital Age: The Malaysian Context”. The session provided valuable insights into how information, cybersecurity, data governance and digital resilience have become critical elements of national power in an increasingly complex security environment. This topic matters because protecting Malaysia’s digital infrastructure, managing information risks, countering emerging cyber threats, and building trusted communication systems are essential to strengthening national security, institutional resilience, and strategic decision-making in the digital age.
